Zyber Series Home Miner Setup Guide: AxeOS Configuration & Troubleshooting for Beginners (Ongoing Updates 2025)

Maximize your cryptocurrency mining experience with the Zyber series. Uniquely crafted by TinyChipHub, it is designed for efficiency, durability, and ease of use.

The Zyber uses an AxeOS based UI, ensuring seamless, familiar operating experience similar to Bitaxe. If you are new to Zyber or Bitaxe, this article contains everything you need to start your mining journey!

Ⅰ.Power Connection and Safety Guidelines

  • Live Terminal Avoidance: NEVER TOUCH EXPOSED COPPER POWER TERMINALS when powered on. It's not deadly (12V-15A DC) but still painful if your hand is wet. Wear insulated gloves during maintenance operations.
  • Fan Safety Protocol: DO NOT PLACE YOUR FINGER ON THE FAN. Keep your hair away from them as well. There are two fans: one on top and one on the bottom. The fans will automatically start when the power is turned on.
  • Polarity-Sensitive Design: The DC power port features a trapezoidal housing to prevent reverse insertion. Align the plug's shape with the port before applying pressure. DO NOT force insertion if resistance is felt – this may damage the gold-plated contacts.
  • Secure Plug Engagement: Insert the power connector in one firm, swift motion to minimize arcing risks. Arcing may cause potential damage to the board.

Ⅱ.Buttons on the Zyber

  • BOOT Button: Change the status page on the screen.
  • RESET Button: Restart your device.
  • DISPLAY Button: The screen will automatically turn off every 5 minutes. You can wake up the screen by pressing the "DISPLAY" button. Pressing and holding the "DISPLAY" button will manually turn off the screen.

Ⅲ. Initialize Settings

1. Conneting to the Zyber

As the Zyber powers up, the screen will light up, and its hotspot module will automatically activate. This indicates that the device is ready for the next step of the setup process.

  • On your smartphone, tablet, or computer, open the settings menu and navigate to the WiFi settings. In the list of available wireless networks, look for the network named "Zyber (XXXX)" and connect to it. Alternatively, you can manually open a web browser and enter the IP address 192.168.4.1 to access AxeOs.
  • Once your device is successfully connected to Zyber's hotspot network, a "Network Configuration window will automatically pop up on your screen. This window provides access to Zyber's operating system and allows you to configure your network settings in the next step.
2. Network Configuration
  • The "Hostname" is for the name you want for the device. Enter the Wi-Fi SSID and Wi-Fi Password of your router in the field that you want the Zyber to connect to. Alternatively, you can click the magnifying glass icon on the right to search for available network signals.
  • Click "Save" to save the network setting then click "Restart". Your router will automatically assign a new dynamic IP address. Check the Zyber's display screen for the updated IP address (usually in XX.XX.XX.XX format). Type the new IP directly into your browser's address bar. Press Enter to reconnect to your Zyber.
3. Pool Settings

The first thing you should do is to click the "Pool Settings" to configure your mining:

  • Enter the pool address you want to mine in the "Stratum Host" field.
  • Enter the port of the pool in the "Stratum Port" field. It's usually provided in the pool information with the pool address.
  • Enter your wallet address in the "Stratum User" field (You can append a '.' followed by your device name to the wallet address to distinguish multiple devices on the mining pool. This formatting does not alter the original wallet address or affect its functionality).
  • Enter the pssword of the pool in the "Stratum Pasword" to gain access if there is one (mostly none).

The "Fallback" refers to a backup settings. When your primary configuration fails to connect or disconnects, the system will automatically attempt to use the fallback configuration.

* The default pool configuration is Tinychiphub's test pool. We have to test every device before we ship it out. You can change whichever pool you like at any time.

Finally, Click "Save" to save the pool configuration then click "Restart" to restart the device and start mining! Now you can access your device directly through the IP address display on the screen.

Ⅳ. Advanced Settings

That’s so exciting that you’re mining now! But if you want to have more fun, you can click on the "Settings" page and see what’s interesting there.

  • Frequency & Core Voltage: This is the core configuration of the device, directly impacting the chip's hashrate and stability. We've pre-configured various Frequency and Voltage settings for your convenience since version 2.7.0 firmware. New beginners can safely select these predefined modes through our simplified interface. Advanced users may unlock Overclock Mode to access granular controls.

* For more details please review How to Fine-tuning Your Devices to Match the Best Performence and Critical Update Log for AxeOS on Zyber Series

  • Filp Screen: You can rotate the LED screen by 180 degree for your convenience.
  • Invert Fan Duty Cycle: This option is enabled by default. If you disable it, the fan's airflow direction will reverse. Unless you have a specific reason or creative purpose, do not modify this setting.
  • Automatic Fan Control: Enable this option, and the fans will automatically adjust their speed based on the voltage regulator and ASIC temperature. You can manually set the speed of the main fan and bottom fan if you find them too noisy or want to cool the device further for overclocking.

* Setting the fan speed too low may cause overheating!

  • Upgrade Section: You can check the current firmware version of your device here. Click "Check" will examine if there is a latest release firmware from our Github page. You can click the file link shown above to download the latest firmware file "esp-miner.bin" and website UI file "www.bin". Selecting the corresponding file to the pop out windows after clicking "+ Brower" to perform an upgrade.

* You can find firmware for Zyber series here https://github.com/TinyChipHub/ESP-Miner-Zyber/releases

* During the upgrade process, you must first upgrade the "esp-miner.bin" file, then refresh the page, and only then proceed to upgrade with "www.bin" file.

* Please be aware that OTA (Over-The-Air) upgrades may have slower transfer speeds and require patience. Especially since the "esp-miner.bin" file is relatively large. If the upgrade is interrupted before completion, it may lead to system crash. At this point, you will only be able to perform a factory flash.

Ⅴ. Q&A Hub

1.General Questions

1.1  Can I mine other cryptocurrencies with this miner?

If you're tired of mining Bitcoin, Zyber allows you to mine cryptocurrencies encrypted by the SHA-256 algorithm. Simply research and identify the specific coins, then fill in the mining pool address and corresponding wallet address to switch the cryptocurrency you're mining.

1.2  What is OC (Overclocking) ?

Overclocking is pushing a chip to work faster than its factory-set speed, boosting performance. However, this generates extra heat, so proper cooling is critical to prevent damage.

1.3  Can I exchange the fans myself? What is the specification?

Yes.The specification of the bottom fan is 12V-8010-4PIN, while the the main fan is 12V-6025-4PIN. If you need to replace or reinstall the fans please pay attention to distinguish between the positions of the main fan's port and the bottom fan's port. Incorrect connection will lead to errors in fan regulation.

1.4  Why my heatsink is dark? It's different from the picture on the website.

To enhance user experience, we've incorporated graphene coating technology into our final product, which significantly boosts the thermal conductivity of the heat sink and delivers superior performance for users.

1.5  Is wired network (ethernet cable) superior to wireless network (Wi-Fi) when hitting a block?

Yes, but actually that is a rare situation even among all these miners around the world. In reality, the speed advantage of wired networks over wireless networks amounts to just a few milliseconds. Wired networks only outperform wireless ones in scenarios where a block is discovered at the exact same instant. The probability of such an occurrence is so slim that it's akin to winning the lottery and then getting struck by lightning right after.

1.6  What is the diffculty in the pool?  What is the relationship between diffculty and the share submitting?

Think of "difficulty" as how hard the rock you’re mining is. Harder rocks (high difficulty) require heavy machines (like industrial mining rigs), while softer rocks (low difficulty) can be dug with a shovel (home miners). "Submissions" are the rubble you dig up (proof of work).

In a regular mining pool: Everyone works together. When treasure (a block) is found, rewards are split based on contributions: Contribution = Difficulty × Submissions.

In a solo pool: You work alone. If you find the treasure, you keep it all. Your chance depends purely on your computing power (hashrate), not contributions.

Pools prefer "high-difficulty rubble" (e.g., gold ore over sand) to reduce verification work. Many solo pools set a minimum difficulty. If you keep submitting low-difficulty proofs (like sand), the pool might reject you or kick you out.

2. Connection Issues

2.1  I entered wrong Wi-Fi password / connect to public networks requiring web authentication and no window pop out.

Press and hold the "BOOT" button for 5 seconds, the device will reset its hotspot. Then you can access the network configuration page again by entering the network named "Zyber (XXXX)"  on your phone or computer.

2.2  The device can not connect to the internet after the network configuration / Showing "No AP Found".

Firstly, Check the SSID and password you entered again. Eliminate extra spaces (common errors) and match letter case sensitivity exactly (e.g., "MyWiFi" ≠ "mywifi").

Secondly, cheak your router. The Zyber can only receive 2.4G network signals, while 5G is not supported. Please ensure DHCP server of your router is enabled (Path: Router Admin -LAN Settings); Disable MAC filtering and AP isolation in firewall settings.

2.3 I can not connect my device to computer via data cable.

If you need to flash the firmware and encounter a situation where the computer doesn't recognize the port (accompanied by persistent beeping sounds) after connecting the device via cable, you can enter Developer Mode using this button sequence: Press and hold the "BOOT" button first, then press the "RESET" button while continuing to hold "BOOT". After a brief pause, release the "BOOT" button first, followed by the "RESET" button.

3. Operating Issues

3.1  Why my hash rate shown on the screen or dashboard is lower than expected?

The hashrate displayed on the dashboard and the screen is an average calculated continuously since you started. It requires some runtime to stabilize and provide an accurate reading. Similarly, the average hashrate is also tied to the mining pool's status—if your connection to the pool is interrupted for any period, it will cause the average hashrate to decrease.

You may also check the combination of  "Frequency" and "Core Voltage" in the "Settings" page in the AxeOS to adjust the hashrate and the stability of your device. You can check the "Chip Submit" section in the "Dashboard" to see if any chip is not functioning.

3.2  Why can't I submit my shares, or are they mostly rejected or even disconnected by the pool?

Please check the difficulty of the pool. If the pool's diff is too high for home miner (e.g. higher than 10000), you shares will be keeping rejected and even disconnected by the pool. Home miners are not welcomed for some industrial pool!

3.3  Why the power and the input voltage shown on the dashboard is higher or lower?

Power consumption depends on your settings. Different Frequency and Core Voltage configurations can cause variations in energy use. Slight input voltage differences are normal, as power environments do not provide perfectly stable outputs—minor fluctuations are expected.
